Chicago police officer who shot a man in Gresham Monday morning was responding to armed domestic dispute, officials say

In a statement about the fatal shooting, authorities said they were dispatched to the 7700 block of South Carpenter Street at 7:26 a.m., and “responding officers encountered” a man who was involved in a dispute with someone else in the apartment. Officials said a knife was recovered from the unit where the shooting occurred but did not say whether anyone had been holding it.
