Weather officials were expecting thunderstorms, hail and winds up to 60 mph Saturday in portions of north central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana.
Thunderstorms were expected to spread across the region Saturday evening and could possibly produce damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours continuing into the night hours, officials said.
Hail up to a quarter size and flooding also was expected.
Over the weekend officials expect temperatures to fall, making snow a possibility Sunday night and Monday morning.
Current conditions at Midway Airport is mostly cloudy at 67 degrees, and at O’Hare International Airport conditions are the same at 66 degrees.
