He has been hit-and-miss since transferring from Michigan, where he lost his job to Shea Patterson in 2018, and last year played in five games while missing three after testing positive for COVID-19, completing only 48.8% of his passes with three touchdowns.
“My sister’s a school teacher back in Union City, and she said it’s rampant in their school and they’re doing everything they can …,” Robinson said. “I think everybody’s doing everything they can to try to help it. And the biggest thing is the vaccination, because it does save lives.”

Dalvin Cook, RB, Vikings: Cook, who averaged 111 rushing yards last season, hopes to play all 17 games, and new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is keen to keep him fresh. “Our strength staff (is) monitoring their workload in practice every day with the GPS tracker, so we’re aware of his touches,” Kubiak said via Vikings.com.
“I’ve been heavy fastball-changeup for most of the year first two times through the order, and as a pitcher when you’re doing one thing for most of the game, especially later on in the game, it’s tough to pivot and try and throw breaking balls,” Davies said after he allowed two runs on three hits with one walk and six strikeouts in 4⅔ innings. “Getting breaking balls early in the game, having a feel for it, getting the hitters to think of more than just fastball-changeup — two similar pitches, just change in velocity for me.”
“He’s hit the ball really hard,” La Russa said. “But that last pitch, the slider got too much of the plate, and the guy put a good swing on it. That’s what’s so good about putting the ball in play, sometimes it finds a hole. The guy, Kirk, even when we’ve got him out, it’s been scary. Just got to figure a different way to approach him.”
