In a statement sent to parents Sunday evening, Superintendent Greg Johnson said that the final decision on reinstating school programs hinged on how well students responded to new stepped-up rules aimed at preventing transmission of the virus. Everyone inside the school building is required to wear a high-quality mask, saliva testing will be increased, and there will be greater spacing for students during lunch periods.

Donaldson pitched in the Negro Leagues and pre-Negro Leagues for more than 30 years and was a White Sox scout from 1949-54. Redding played for the Chicago American Giants, among other teams.
Weather service meteorologist Matt Friedlein said the service doesn’t track temperatures separately for Arlington Heights and downtown Chicago, but often the general precipitation and temperature trends are similar between the two. However, Friedlein said northern suburbs do tend to get more snow and colder temperatures than the heart of the city.

“Maryland basketball has been my passion and focus for the last 10 seasons, and I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished,” Turgeon said in a statement. He had a 226-116 record at Maryland and gone to the NCAA Tournament five of the last six seasons.
When asked why Bueckers was still in the game at that point, Auriemma said the coaching staff has tried to put a greater emphasis on getting Bueckers more rest the last few games, but she’s, for one, she’s a “pain in the ass” who complains when she’s not on the game, but also, “I don’t like the way our team looks when she’s not on the floor.”
Georgia (12-1) managed to stay in the field as the third seed, becoming the second team to lose its conference title game and make the playoff. Notre Dame did the same thing last season, when it lost a rematch with Clemson in its one season playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference, a move prompted by pandemic-altered schedules.
