Ogunjobi is no stranger to steep climbs. His football journey began in high school in Jamestown, N.C., with the most modest of goals. He was extremely overweight, an admitted video game couch potato, and his parents were simply pushing him to find some way to become more active and find a healthier lifestyle.
“I’m pretty big — 6-6, like 210 pounds — defense is my strength, and I feel like this year I got comfortable playing defense,” Vlasic said. “Being able to use my size and strength to my advantage, talking to my advisers and my coaches, we all agreed that it was ready for me to move on and accept bigger challenges and accept what was to come in the future and playing against bigger, faster, stronger — just better players in general.”
“People said to me, ‘Is this going to your head?’ ” she said. “No, it’s not going to my head. I just try all the time to make people happy, to be happy myself. And if I make people happy and it’s good for my congregation what I do, and good for Loyola what I do, I’ll do it. I have a lot of fun doing what I do, and that makes me happy.
