Michael D.V. Carwell, 22, 1900 block of Bayview Lane, has been charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm in connection with the shooting outside the Trilogy Nightclub that killed 23-year-old Khalief McAllister, of Aurora, and left three others wounded, Kane County State’s Attorney’s officials said in a news release.
The other person, whose identity has not been released, died at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn and had a gunshot wound to the left arm and into the chest, the medical examiner said. The family had not yet been contacted regarding the death as of Monday morning, according to the medical examiner.
A spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department confirmed Monday that Officer Evan Solano had been stripped of his police powers pending an investigation by the Civilian Office of Police Accountability. Solano has been identified as the officer who shot 22-year-old Alvarez, who was carrying a gun during a foot chase.
Karim Hunter, 27, was arrested about 6 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Jennifer Lane in Calumet City, the same block where he lives, and charged with the murder of a Chatham woman who was found unresponsive in the 700 block of East 79th Street about 5 a.m. Saturday, according to police.

It’s not clear if Lightfoot still intends to rename the Riverwalk, but she was explicit about having statues erected for DuSable, creating the $40 million park and “year-round programming so that people understand who DuSable is and his importance (to) our city.” The mayor’s office did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
One tornado, rated EF-1, occurred in Danforth in Iroquois County on Friday with estimated winds of 95 miles per hour. Three tornadoes, all rated EF-0, were reported in Dyre, Indiana, Crete and Chatsworth with winds of 75 miles per hour, according to Brian Leatherwood of the weather service’s Chicago-area office.
All six victims in South Shore had been at 24 Hour Gyros & Subs, 2058 W. 71st St., waiting for their orders to be prepared, according to a preliminary police report. A man with a concealed carry license was standing nearby and he later told police someone in a gray Dodge Durango began firing toward the group.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Pedro Trinidad, 36, Flor Carillo, 38, and Evelyn Trinidad, 5, all of East Chicago, according to emails from Rachelle Fogarty, deputy coroner. All three suffered blunt force trauma but their manner of death had not been determined as of Monday morning, she said.
The attack happened in the 6300 block of South Artesian Avenue around 10:53 p.m., police said in a media notification. Of the 11 people who were hit, a woman whose name and age had not been released early Monday had been the only fatality, officials said.
