Mieczyslaw Podraza, 80, of the 8800 block of North Western Avenue, died July 5 after he was found in a pool on the 8900 block of David Place in unincorporated Maine Township near Niles, the Cook County Sheriff’s Department and Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

Biden made a trip to LaCrosse, Wisconsin, last week to promote a bipartisan deal on infrastructure. Western Wisconsin is a key swing area in the key swing state of Wisconsin. Democrat U.S. Rep. Ron Kind narrowly held onto his seat representing the western Wisconsin district, which Biden lost to Trump. The president, however, kept the margins close enough there to defeat Trump in a state the former president won in 2016
And for those who plan a night on the lake, boaters also should expect gusty winds, waves, and lightning. Police said they responded at 3:40 p.m. to a home in the 9500 block of Meade Avenue and the girl was initially taken to Advocate Aurora Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn then later transferred to Comer Children’s Hospital in Chicago, where she died.
