The Hickory Hills Police Department responded to a call about a traffic accident at 2:24 p.m., according to a statement from the Hickory Hills Police Department. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene and four others were taken to local hospitals.
Six people who had been attending a party were shot around 11:40 p.m. in the 5000 block of West Ohio Street in South Austin, according to a police media notification. They had been standing on a sidewalk in a group when “occupants in a dark-colored SUV fired shots” into the crowd, police said.
“The Japanese people have a right to feel the way they do. After all, it’s a heavy influx of people to their home country and it’s scary,” said rhythmic gymnast Evita Griskenas, an Orland Park resident who will compete in the individual all-around event. “But as far as Team USA goes, I’d say the majority of us are vaccinated, which I think helps. And taking a look at all the testing and all the protocols we have to follow in Japan, I think it will be handled very safely.”
Allen, meanwhile, noted the 17-year-old had a juvenile criminal history dating back at least four years, most recently with a case involving possession of a stolen motor vehicle in juvenile court, in which a judge ordered he be placed on electronic monitoring. But instead, a warrant was issued for him in December after he didn’t show up to court, Allen said.
A second man, 40, suffered wounds to the hip and leg, and a third victim, 45, who also suffered a leg wound were both taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said. A 62-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the back, and was listed in good condition at the same hospital.
While the infrastructure package totals $1.2 trillion, about half of that money covers existing programs. The roughly $600 billion in new money includes spending on roads, bridges, electrical grids, passenger and freight rail, public transit, broadband access, airports, ports and waterways among other provisions.

About a month later, on Feb. 4, Chicago police pulled Hrabar over as she drove Moreno’s Audi, prosecutors have said. The average number of daily doses was 21,217 for the week ending Friday, down from 41,150 for the week ending July 1, a nearly 50% drop. The average has increased somewhat from a lull during the week of the Fourth of July holiday, when it dipped as low as 16,423 vaccinations per day.
