Details of the shooting were widely circulated because it happened just three blocks away and about 10 minutes before another shooting in which five people were wounded. That attack, in the 1400 block of South Ridgeway Avenue, left four teenagers wounded, ages 14, 15, 17 and 18, as well as a 22-year-old man. All of those victims were expected to survive, including the 15-year-old boy who was an innocent bystander who was shot while seated in his father’s vehicle, police have said.
