Under a previous law, Mark, 21, who has autism and seizure disorders, would have been abruptly yanked from the special education transition program at Lincoln-Way School District 210 on Dec. 9, when he turns 22. But legislation signed this week by Gov. J.B. Pritzker means he can stay on to finish the school year.
At a bond hearing Friday, prosecutor James Murphy said Arzuaga and his girlfriend, Yasmin Perez, 23, who also was fatally shot that night, attended the parade in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. She crashed her sedan into a telephone pole along Route 31, near River Run Road in Oswego, killing five Oswego teenagers. Katherine Merkel, 14, Tiffany Urso, 16, Jessica Nutoni, 15 and Matthew Frank, 17, were pronounced dead at the scene, and James McGee, 14, died later. Three other teens were injured. All had, for at least a time, attended Oswego High School.

The material could even be distributed to the mussels similarly to Zequanox engineering, which involved a frame and tarp system to pump the molluscicide underwater. For lab tests, they could directly inject the mussels.

Last year, the Park District did not receive its annual $1.5 million payment because of the cancellation. However, it still received $750,000 under the deal’s “force majeure” clause, which covers fire, hurricane, flood, tornado, “act of God,” terrorist act, mechanical or structural failure, civil commotion and other developments that are “not reasonably foreseeable” and are beyond “reasonable control.”
