State health officials Thursday reported 3,048 new confirmed and probable cases of the coronavirus, the first time daily cases have topped 3,000 since May 7. As of Wednesday, the seven-day average of COVID-19 patients in hospitals across Illinois topped 1,000 for the first time since early June.
The surveillance footage shows Wilder attempting to run away when Armstrong and Wilder began shooting, but was hit before he ran. He was transported to Lurie Children’s Hospital. West Nile virus is transmitted through the bite of certain mosquitoes, which typically contract the disease by feeding on infected birds, according to the county health department. Illness onset may occur three to 15 days after being bitten, and common symptoms in humans include fever, nausea, headache and muscle aches.
Crundwell, 68, was originally scheduled to be released Oct. 20, 2029, according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. But she was released early from the Federal Correctional Institute in Pekin, Illinois, to a Chicago residential reentry management field office, also known as a halfway house.

The 13-year-old was shot in the neck, police said, and the 19-year-old was shot in the hand. A friend drove the teens to Rush University Medical Center, but the 13-year-old later was transferred to Stroger Hospital where he’d been listed in critical condition, according to authorities.
Champaign County, home to the University of Illinois’ flagship campus, is currently listed as a “high transmission” community, while the Chicago area and Cook County are at “substantial transmission,” according to the Illinois Department of Health. The county also had a 3.4% positivity rate as of Tuesday, while Cook County was slightly less at 3.35%.
After Gov. J.B. Pritzker issued a statewide mask mandate for schools on Wednesday, the Illinois High School Association announced the directive applies to student-athletes, coaches, officials, other personnel and spectators for indoor fall sports as well as any other sports conducting indoor workouts.
