“Everything was going smoothly during the year,” Uguak said. “No one had any symptoms or illnesses, so maybe just like everyone else, we forgot about it a little bit because we’re in the season. It’s definitely real, it’s affected us and it hurt. At the end of the day, you control what you control. Going forward, just being more cautious and tightening up our circles of who’s around us is what we’ll have to focus on.”
Advocate Aurora Health, which has 26 hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin, is delaying and rescheduling certain procedures to times and places where it has the staffing and capacity to perform them, said Dr. Jeff Bahr, chief medical group officer. It is continuing to do surgeries in situations where not performing them might result in a person needing hospitalization, or losing a limb. Advocate is also continuing to perform cancer treatments and diagnoses, he said.
Marcell Wilson, of the 5500 block of South Aberdeen Street, was shot in the chest around 11:25 p.m. and he initially was rushed in critical condition to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he later died, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

“I’m not saying that all bishops are bad, far from it, but there’s a lot of corruption going on,” said co-founder the Rev. John Lovell, who has been sidelined for nine years. ” … There are priests being victimized who have done nothing wrong, and who don’t deserve the treatment they’re getting from church officials.”
“Some of these sorts of events, like drought, or extreme cold in February, they are a reminder that we have variability on top of climate change,” Ford said. “So even if the climate’s getting warmer, we can still have a very, very cold winter, or a very, very cold winter month. Catanzara’s union is embroiled in a legal fight to hold off the city’s vaccine requirements for officers, claiming they violate the police union’s collective bargaining agreement. The city’s original Friday deadline was stayed until this week, when arbitration on the matter could begin. An arbitrator has already upheld the vaccine mandate for firefighters and other workers, whose lawsuits against the city followed the FOP’s challenge in October.
