In these locations, subscribers can extend service to another household for a discounted price. In Costa Rica, for instance, Netflix plan prices range from $9 to $15 a month, but subscribers can openly share their service with another household for $3.

The family will remain involved both in management roles and as shareholders. Tony Ingraffia will be a shareholder and board member, said Andrew Jhawar, a partner at Apollo. Tony and Frank Ingraffia as well as some other family members will have “a significant equity investment” in the company, Jhawar said, though he declined to disclose their share. Gambino is retiring, the company said, though his family will continue to be involved in the business. The parties declined to comment on financial details of the transaction.

After the state announcement, CTA, Metra and the Chicago Department of Aviation also lifted their mask requirements. All three agencies had initially continued to require masks despite the federal ruling, citing the state rules. They all asked riders to be courteous to other passengers once mask requirements ended.

With the pandemic easing, people have been finding other things to do, and other video streaming services are working hard to lure new viewers with their own award-winning programming. Apple, for instance, held the exclusive streaming rights to “CODA,” which eclipsed Netflix’s “Power of The Dog,” among other movies, to win Best Picture at last month’s Academy Awards.
