In the Chicago area, Washington Prime’s properties include Lincolnwood Town Center in Lincolnwood; Lake Plaza in Waukegan; Bloomingdale Court in Bloomingdale; Countryside Plaza in Countryside; and Lake View Plaza in Orland Park. It also has properties in Rockford, Peoria, Springfield and O’Fallon, according to its website. The company owns about 100 shopping centers, mainly in the Midwest, East Coast and Florida.

As a result, around 15 million boxes of cookies were left over as the cookie season wound down. Most — around 12 million boxes — remain with the two bakers, Louisville, Kentucky-based Little Brownie Bakers and Brownsburg, Indiana-based ABC Bakers. Another 3 million boxes are in the hands of the Girl Scout councils, which are scrambling to sell or donate them. The cookies have a 12-month shelf life.

With six family members spending their days mostly at home during the pandemic, sharing a kitchen and overhearing phone calls and TV shows, Ballou, 47, is ready for more privacy and wants her parents to have independence. But North Center is expensive, meaning her parents have less buying or renting power if they want to stay nearby, she said.
