The agreements, which are pending regulatory approval, include a $1.125 billion deal to sell WOW!’s Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, services areas to Atlantic Broadband, and a separate $661 million deal to sell its Chicago, Evansville, Indiana, and Maryland service areas to Astound Broadband, the parent company of RCN.
On Wednesday, Carr welcomed Jennifer Day, another former Chicago Tribune editor, as features editor at Chicago magazine. The nurses’ union and health system reached the tentative agreement shortly after midnight Monday, said Angela Walker, a Cook County Health nurse and member of the bargaining team. As part of the proposed contract, Cook County Health has agreed to add another 300 nurses within 18 months and give nurses raises, and pay them incentives to help with retention, she said.
