“One of the things that’s happened, of course, is that my relationships with SEIU have been damaged, but my primary responsibility is not, frankly, my relationship with SEIU,” Preckwinkle said. “It’s to the residents and taxpayers in Cook County, to be a good steward of county government, and that’s what I’ve tried to do.”

“We expect the short-haul regional air travel market to play a key role in the evolution of the electric aircraft. As battery technology improves, larger-gauge aircraft should become viable but we’re not going to wait to begin the journey,” Michael Leskinen, United’s Vice President Corp Development and Investor Relations, said in a news release.

The jump in prices stems in many cases from a shortage of components and goods throughout the economy, from semiconductors to used cars, as well as surging demand from consumers who are increasingly traveling, shopping and eating out — and too few workers to serve them. Wages have increased sharply as a result, along with restaurant meals, airline fares and hotel rates.

Restaurant prices are rising due to an array of factors, including rising costs of food and other supply chain goods, as well as the rising cost of employing people. Among those reacting is Big Guys Sausage Stand in Berwyn, which is adding a 15% surcharge.

That episode and others in Season 2 followed the breakdown in the relationship between Gramenos and Eckhardt, once close friends who purchased, renovated and sold Chicago homes together. Gramenos, the designer and host, and Eckhardt, the former lead contractor, ran into trouble with the city for alleged building violations and were involved in a slew of lawsuits, many of which have been settled or dropped.
