Peoples Gas, which has about 867,000 customers in Chicago, projects typical residential customer bills to increase by about $60 per month this winter. Monthly bills are expected rise by about $50 per month at North Shore Gas, which has more than 163,000 customers in the northern suburbs.

Gibson-Giampa said those buying residences in the redeveloped Tribune Tower have 56 floor plans to choose from, including Wolf appliances, custom cabinetry, kitchen galley workstations and marble bathrooms. The Tower Residences has a private dog park and space for retail on the first floor. What used to be the cafeteria space that nourished journalists through the years is now a posh lobby of grays, whites, blacks and silver and gold that takes one from the new lobby on Illinois Street in the north wing of the building to the more historic lobby on Michigan Avenue. The cacophony of footsteps and voices in the historic lobby has been exchanged for a quieter environment since the building was renovated from newsgathering operations to one-to four-bedroom residences for sale from $900,000 to over $8 million.
Airline officials said that they will add five new destinations in Jordan, Norway, Portugal’s Azores and Spain’s Canary Islands and Palma de Mallorca. The flights will start in May and June from Newark, New Jersey, and Dulles Airport outside Washington.
Walgreens has been doing well financially in recent months, as it also works to cut costs. On Thursday, Walgreens reported a strong fourth quarter, topping expectations. For fiscal year 2021, net cash provided by operating activities was $5.6 billion, up $70 million compared with the previous year.

Calumet City looks to use the struggling River Oaks shopping center, southeast of Torrence Avenue and 159th Street, just east of Interstate 94, for a 150,000-square-foot casino. The city teamed up in the $275 million project with Southland Live Casino, a partnership that includes the privately held firm Delaware North, which operates a casino in Illinois.
