Lake County Council President Ted Bilski, D-Hobart, said at this time he has not heard much of the bill nor had any talks with legislators as they look to move in forward. He is unsure where the council would stand. Bilski said he was in support of a convention center the last time the council considered it, but there was not a whole lot of other support. He would want to know what impact any project would have on the rest of the county.
“So, suddenly, these inflation numbers are something many, many people haven’t seen in their own lifetime, and for them they’re uncertain what it means for optimal consumption-savings decisions,” Weber said, noting that inflation is the highest its been since 1982. “And oftentimes, you see that high inflation, especially numbers like that, actually leads ordinary households to start a downward adjustment on their outlook — they expect bad economic times ahead, so they become pessimistic,” he said.
Chicago Public Media has sought “significant philanthropic support” for the partnership. Michael Sacks, chairman and CEO of Chicago-based asset management firm GCM Grosvenor and a Sun-Times investor, helped secure the agreement to transfer the newspaper’s assets and committed “significant future financial support,” according to Chicago Public Media.

Dermody plans to invest more than $500 million, including land acquisition, to redevelop the Allstate campus as a massive logistics and fulfillment operation, expediting delivery of products to consumers and businesses in the Chicago area, the company told the Tribune.
The project would displace some of the pond, hospital representatives said. A diagram showed how they would replace some of the volume in the pond that will be lost by building the expansion. The plan is to push some of the volume to the north end of the retention pond and expand the open water area along the sides.
