Car crashes into Morton Grove Culver’s restaurant, injuring four people inside

A car crashed into a Culver’s restaurant on the 7300 block of Dempster Street, Morton Grove, Monday afternoon, injuring four people inside the restaurant.

According to information from the Morton Grove Police Department, a 2008 Toyota Sedan was traveling west on Dempster Street when it hit the building. Police said the crash took place just before 4 p.m. and that four customers sustained minor injuries. They are being treated at local hospitals, police said.

The driver, who was uninjured in the crash, was a 79-year-old woman from Mount Prospect, police said. She has been charged with improper lane usage and a court date is set for Dec. 21, according to information from the department.

Medical issues did not play a role in the crash, Morton Grove Police Commander Dennis Johnson said.
