Boy, 8, fatally shot in the Park Boulevard neighborhood, police say

An 8-year-old boy was fatally shot in the head in the Park Boulevard neighborhood Monday evening, Chicago police said.

Around 5:48 p.m., the boy was at a home in the 3600 block of South Rhodes Avenue with other individuals when the shooting occurred, police said. He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No one is in custody at this time. Area 1 detectives are investigating.
