A 17-year-old boy was charged with stealing 11 vehicles while armed with a gun — 9 of which happened on Aug. 20 — across the South and Southwest Sides earlier this month, Chicago police said.
In eight of the 11 attacks, women were victimized.

The boy, who was not being identified because he is a juvenile, was charged with 11 felony counts of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm as well as two felony counts of criminal damage to government property, police said.
The latest attack happened Tuesday and targeted a 49-year-old woman in the Gresham neighborhood while an earlier carjacking happened in Marquette Park on Aug. 18, and involved a 35-year-old woman, police said.

The other nine all took place on Aug. 20 in the Wrightwood, Marquette Park, Bridgeport, Gage Park and Gresham neighborhoods.
The boy was arrested Tuesday.
