Smith died at the scene. State investigators said Smith’s passenger, a 27-year-old woman, was treated for injuries from glass debris. The woman, however, said she never saw a gun on Smith or in the vehicle, her attorneys said last week — contradicting investigators’ claims about Smith’s actions.
Officers were called to the 100 block of North Lake Shore Drive — not far from the intersection of North Wabash Avenue and West Randolph Street — to investigate the shooting about 10:20 p.m., police said in an online media notice. The security guard had been in an argument with the 34-year-old when the guard “drew his weapon and discharged it,” hitting the older man at least once in his abdomen.

By subsidizing their rent, you have created a false economy. They don’t put their earnings toward housing costs, because you’re doing it. They go out for coffee instead of brewing it at home, and don’t offer it to you because – why not? They can “afford” it, and you are invisible.
