Google’s decision to move its Chicago offices from River North in late 2015 and create an expanded Midwest operation there is seen as one of the biggest factors in property values that soared in the years to follow. Google now leases about 386,000 square feet in the building and about 500,000 square feet total in Fulton Market. The company has more than 1,300 employees in Chicago.

“The act prohibits a federal officeholder or an ‘entity directly or indirectly established, financed, maintained or controlled by or acting on behalf of 1 or more … individuals holding federal office’ from soliciting, receiving, directing, transferring, or spending funds in connection with ‘any election other than an election for federal office,’ unless the funds do not exceed the act’s contribution limits and are not from sources prohibited by the act,” they wrote.

In 1924, the Grant Park Municipal Stadium opened and one year later was was renamed Soldier Field at the request of the Chicago Gold Star Mothers. The stadium has hosted rodeos, music festivals, prep football games, the first Special Olympics and more before becoming the home of the Chicago Bears in 1971. Rivers Casino in Des Plaines is hiring 400 people, including 250 dealers, to prepare for a 78,000-square-foot expansion set to open in spring 2022. Rivers broke ground in February on the expansion, which will add a ballroom, a new restaurant and increase the number of gaming positions from 1,200 to 2,000 — the most allowed under the state’s sweeping 2019 gambling expansion bill.
