“I have no idea. You know, I’m not trying to be glib. I’m just totally transparent,” Popovich said. “We’ve thought about, ‘Are they going to have jet lag? Is it going to be like two days later after they land and they’ll be OK?’ … In some ways, it might depend on if everybody else is healthy. If they’re not, they’ve got to play. The collision happened just before 8 p.m. when a car driven by the Harvey man and traveling south on Halsted Street near 173rd Street crossed into the northbound lanes, striking the vehicle driven by the Homewood woman, according to East Hazel Crest police Chief Roy Janich.

Around 11 a.m., a 36-year-old man shot himself in the leg after a 32-year-old woman claimed he pointed a handgun at her in the 4300 block of South Wentworth Avenue in Fuller Park on the South Side. The man has been identified as Keelan Gillard, of the 9600 block of South Calumet Avenue in Rosemoor, police said.
