On paper, the trade gave the Sox the most dominant late-inning trio in the game in Hendriks, Kimbrel and Michael Kopech, a future starter working out of the pen to protect his arm two years after elbow reconstruction surgery. If Aaron Bummer could return to form, if Kimbrel’s former Cubs teammate Ryan Tepera continued to excel and if rookie Garrett Crochet matured with experience, the possibilities were endless for manager Tony La Russa, the godfather of modern bullpen strategy.
That makes sense from the standpoint that panicking wouldn’t do the coaches or players any good. It’s not like the Bears can make wholesale personnel moves to the 53-man roster. Maybe they’ll swap out nickel cornerback Marqui Christian, whom they cut in a procedural move before Week 1. But promoting Duke Shelley, who was inactive for the Rams game, wouldn’t make the kind of improvement the Bears can get if players such as Mack, Quinn, Hicks, Smith, Jackson and others step up.

Swamp white oak (Quercus bicolor), a tall, impressive shade tree; chinkapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii), with glossy green leaves; and the stately, spreading bur oak (Quercus macrocarpa) are all good choices for large yards.

During the pandemic, Illinois has funneled more than $700 million in relief funding into the state’s child care industry, according to the governor’s office. Through an initial round of grants, over 5,000 providers received monetary support, including 85% of eligible child care centers and 40% of licensed family child care homes. On average, child care centers have received over $270,000 each and child care homes have received an average of $13,000, according to the governor’s office.

That suit, filed by construction worker Benjamin George, claimed that Gardiner told his ward boss, Charles Sikanich, to report the phone stolen. Police officers were sent to George’s home, where they “profanely” harassed his roommate, according to the suit.
