But “what’s different,” Sharkey said, “is, the virus is more contagious, we’ve got more people in the schools, so it’s worse in terms of exposure, but the testing program actually got scaled down,” Sharkey said. “They’ve kept the same number of contact tracers, despite the fact that the number of students went up by a factor of six. … It’s been a disaster.”
GoodKids MadCity, an anti-violence group, said one of the teens was a member of the group, and that the boy was a student at Simeon Career Academy, 8147 S. Vincennes Ave. The Chicago Teachers Union said the other 15-year-old boy, who was fatally shot hours earlier, also attended the high school.

“Some spots where he’s given some free passes, which is uncharacteristic of him, here and there, making sure he stays on the attack,” Ross said. “He’s pitched pretty decent. Tonight hasn’t been his best, but other than that I thought he’s done a pretty nice job.”
