Built in 1968 and situated on a 1.37-acre, flag-type lot, the four-bedroom, 4,092-square-foot house is in the York Woods subdivision. It has 3½ bathrooms, travertine flooring in the foyer and entrance atrium, an open floor plan, a dining room with original teak parquet flooring, 9-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, many walls of windows, high-end appliances in the kitchen, a family room with a wood beam ceiling, a walk-in cedar closet, and a lower level with a large rec room and a fireplace. The home also has an attached two-car garage, a detached four-car garage and a cantilevered south side that opens to a patio and a tiered garden with a waterfall.
As it stands now, the law allows minors seeking an abortion to ask a judge to waive the notification requirement if they fear for their safety. Since 2013, when the law went into effect after years of legal challenges, judges granted more than 99.5% of bypass requests in Illinois, according to the ACLU, which has argued the notification law serves no public policy purpose.
“The old (Blackhawks) regime never had any interest in me, so when there was a change, I think it’s pretty cool that they thought I fit the bill for this role,” he said. “That’s what I’ve been working my whole life towards: I’m 28, this is my eighth-year pro, I’ve had stints and never been able to kind of stick, so I’m really trying to find a home here.”
The measure, co-sponsored by Ald. Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez, 33rd, calls on City Council to develop a plan to increase public restroom access. More than 20 organizations and state officials are also backing the resolution, including the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, Arab American Family Services and the Center on Halsted.
Last season, in the midst of the coronavirus, the NFL completed its season on schedule, but had to reschedule 15 games, some to midweek. In July, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell warned the 32 teams that no games would be rescheduled under such circumstances and, instead, forfeits could happen.
Under Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s directive, all city employees had until Oct. 15 to report their vaccination status but could choose to undergo regular COVID-19 testing, rather than get shots, through the end of the year. After police unions challenged the vaccine mandate in court, though, a judge suspended the Dec. 31 date for those members to be fully inoculated, saying that needed to go through arbitration.
