The NHL also postponed the Columbus Blue Jackets’ games through Dec. 26 “due to concern with the number of positive cases within the last several days as well as concern for continued COVID spread.” Team activities for the Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton Oilers and Ottawa Senators also were shut down, joining the Panthers, Predators, Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs as teams that have paused operations.

UIC students, faculty and staff will also be required to get a COVID-19 test before Jan. 24, regardless of vaccination status, the school said. Students, faculty and staff who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated will be required to test twice a week.
