Attention all foodies! Chi Food Truck Fest returns to Daley Plaza on May 17

Foodies, tap in! Daley Plaza will be filled with food trucks once again for the 9th season of the Chi Food Truck Fest, the Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) announced on May 7. Located at 50. W Washington St, the fest plans to give a diverse roundup of tasty options to Chicago’s central business district. 

The fest is a great way for small business owners to get exposure and for foodies of all creeds to congregate and break bread, surrounded by the beautiful landscape that is Chicago’s downtown. 

Festivities begin on Friday, May 17, continuing on every Friday through October 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In a statement made to BACP, Mayor Brandon Johnson said, “The Chi Food Truck Fest ignites economic activity in Chicago’s central business district and unites a city known for multiple flavors of culinary excellence. It is one of the best opportunities we have for residents to sample an eclectic array of local food favorites while supporting our small business owners.”

The dates for the food fest are as follows:

  • May 17, 24, 31
  • June 7, 14, 21, 28
  • July 5, 12, 19, 26
  • August 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
  • September 6, 13, 20, 27
  • October 4

The participating vendors have not yet been announced, but BACP plans to announce participating vendors on their social pages each week of the festival. BACP is also still accepting vendors, you can apply on their website. Participants must be properly licensed by the city as a mobile food vehicle.
