At least one funnel cloud has been spotted after a tornado warning was issued for Wheaton, Elmhurst and Lombard, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning, in effect until 4:15 p.m., includes the possibility of “penny-sized” hail, according to the weather service.

The warning is part of a “complicated” weather system that is moving into the area, possibly to last through the holiday weekend, according to the weather service, which said showers and storms are anticipated into Wednesday evening.
