Authorities said at least three people, including a young child, were found shot Wednesday afternoon in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.
According to the Chicago Fire Department, three victims were found at two different scenes. An adult male of unknown age was found near 81st and Elizabeth streets, while a female and a child were found wounded near 81st and Ashland Avenue, according to Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt.
Merritt said it was unclear whether the victims were shot during the same incident. The two adults were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, while the child was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in fair condition.
Chicago police didn’t immediately have details on the shooting.
