Aneesah Morrow, who announced on April 5 she was entering the transfer portal, has narrowed down her options.
The former DePaul star tweeted Friday that USC, LSU or South Carolina are the finalists for her talents next season.
At LSU, Morrow would join coach Kim Mulkey, forward Angel Reese and the current NCAA women’s champions. Should she choose South Carolina, Morrow would link up with back-to-back Naismith Coach of the Year Dawn Staley who had five players selected in the WNBA draft earlier this month. At USC, Morrow would pair with JuJu Watkins, the No. 1 girls basketball recruit and Sierra Canyon star point guard who committed to the program in November.
The Chicago native and Simeon star entered the portal as one of the most sought after athletes in the country. ESPN previously reported Morrow had been contacted by more than 30 schools including Iowa, Notre Dame, Northwestern, and Ohio State.
She averaged 25.7 points (fourth in the nation) and 12.2 rebounds (seventh) this past season.
Morrow was named a finalist for the WBCA All-America team and the Katrina McClain Award as the nation’s top power forward, a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year and one of 15 players on the national ballot for the John R. Wooden Award.
As the 2021-22 national freshman of the year, she led the country in rebounding (13.8 per game) and offensive rebounding (5.8) and finished in the top 11 in double-doubles (27, second), steals (89, ninth) and scoring (21.9 points per game, 11th).
Morrow reached 1,000 career points in 43 games, and her 848 points this past season set a DePaul record.
