A young man was shot while riding a Red Line train near the Chinatown stop on Saturday afternoon, Chicago police said.
The 21-year-old victim was on the train near the 100 block of West Cermak Road around 3:48 p.m. when a person approached him and shot him in the calf, police said. The man was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in good condition.
The unidentified shooter was taken into custody, with police recovering a gun from the scene. Criminal charges were pending, authorities said. No motive for the shooting was given.
