Today, Tuesday, February 28th, is the last chance for Chicagoans to weigh in on the question of who should be our next mayor. It’s also our final opportunity to cast our ballots for a number of other high-stakes races, including city clerk, city treasurer, city council, alderpersons in all 50 wards, and police district councils.
Many of these races – especially the 9-person contest for Mayor – may come down to some very small margins. So if you have not already cast your ballot during the Early Vote period, now is the time to make a plan to vote!

Here is some important information about Voter ID requirements – including which voters are required to provide ID and when. You can also contact the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners at 312-269-7976 for more information about your polling place or in regard to any questions or concerns that may arise on Election Day.
The results of these elections will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our city and our communities.
The stakes are especially high for Black Chicogoans and our families. The individuals who will be occupying these offices will be making decisions surrounding the issues that directly impact our families and livelihood. These issues include – but are certainly not limited to – housing costs, wages, property tax, rent levels, education, policing, climate change, and civil rights for black and brown communities.
Black Chicagoans, our vote is our voice. And it has the power to shape our future – as well as the future of our family and our communities. Please be sure to use your voice by voting in today’s election and to encourage your friends, family and neighbors to do the same
