A portion of Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach was closed Monday afternoon after a head-on collision in which five people were injured, police said.
The roadway was closed between Civic Center Drive and East End Drive after the crash, which happened at around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said a Toyota Rav4 traveling east on Rollins crossed the centerline and struck a westbound Toyota Rav4 head-on. Three people in one of the SUVs and two in the other were taken to hospitals.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately known Monday afternoon, police said.

The accident remains under investigation by police.
