Five people were rushed to area hospitals Sunday from the location of a Southwest Side bar after “an apparent overdose,” according to Chicago police.
The five adults were found at 3636 W. 111th Street around 2:30 p.m., according to the Chicago Fire Department. The given address is for Lawlor’s Bar, but officials did not identify the scene by name. Fire officials called for an emergency medical services plan, which summoned additional ambulances.
Two 41-year-old men and a 46-year-old man were taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park in fair condition, Chicago police said. A 42-year-old man and a 47-year-old man were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and were in good condition.
A 57-year-old woman was also taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for an unrelated ankle injury, police said.
The cause of the incident wasn’t immediately known, according to Lea. Calls to the bar went unanswered Sunday afternoon.
