Two people died after a vehicle they were in and traveling at an estimated speed of more than 115 mph slammed into a semi truck early Saturday in Bridgeview.
Two passengers, a male and female, were killed, and two others, including the female driver, suffered minor injuries, the village said in a statement. The driver of the truck also suffered minor injuries.

The accident occurred at about 4:20 a.m. Saturday, and police closed the intersection of 79th and Roberts Road while the investigation continued.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office said the two passengers who died suffered blunt force injuries and ruled their cause of death an accident. The office said that family of the two had not yet been notified, and that identification information was not available Monday.
