A 19-year-old woman riding her bicycle not far from DuSable Harbor late Monday was shot once by a man who had been shouting at her before the attack, Chicago police said.
Officers were called to the 200 block of North Breakwater Access around 10 p.m. on Memorial Day to investigate the shooting, according to an online media statement from police. The woman had been riding her bicycle when “an unidentified male” began shouting at her for an unknown reason.

The man pulled a gun and shot the woman once before he took off running, police said. The woman suffered a gunshot wound to one thigh and she was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she had been listed in fair condition.
No arrests have been made and the shooting remains under investigation.
