14-year-old girl shot in the face in Auburn Gresham, police say

A 14-year-old girl was struck by gunfire in the face while in a residence in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, police say.

At approximately 4:52 p.m., the girl was shot in the 1200 block of West 81st Street, according to a Chicago Police Department notification.

She was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital initially in critical condition.

No one is in custody. Detectives are investigating.
