Robinson had 102 catches for 1,250 yards and six touchdowns last season becoming just the fourth player in team history to record at least 100 receptions in a season. Brandon Marshall reached that milestone twice with 118 catches in 2012 and 100 the next season. Matt Forte set an NFL record for receptions in a season with 102 in 2014, and Marty Booker had 100 grabs in 2001.
Meanwhile, several law professors who spoke to the Tribune agreed that the lawsuit filed by John Doe 2 — a former high school hockey player whom Aldrich was convicted of sexually assaulting in 2013 in Michigan — might have a high legal hurdle to clear before reaching the discovery phase, in which the Hawks and other parties could be compelled to produce documents and witnesses indicating what they knew about Aldrich’s employment, background, abuse allegations against him and other evidence relevant to the suit.
The eldest, 30-year-old Justin, played for the University of Denver, NAHL Texas Tornado and Salve Regina University. 26-year-old Seth, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2013 NHL draft, and has played for the Nashville Predators and Blue Jackets over his eight seasons. 24-year-old Caleb was drafted by the Oilers in the fourth round in 2015 and has spent parts of the previous three seasons with them, including 33 games last season.
“At this time, we’re going to make no statements, except he didn’t harm anybody,” Sherman’s wife, Ashley Moss, told the Seattle Times. “My kids were not harmed in the incident. He’s a good person and this is not his character. We’re doing all right, just trying to get him out. I want people to know no one was injured.”
Tidrow pitched parts of 13 major-league seasons for the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and New York Mets. The 6-foot-4 right-hander had a 100-94 career record with 55 saves and a 3.68 ERA over 620 appearances, including 138 starts. He won two World Series rings with the Yankees in 1977 and ’78.
Meanwhile, Tokyo reported its highest number of new COVID-19 cases in almost six months Wednesday — a bad sign with the Olympics set to open in a little more than a week. The 1,149 new cases was the highest one-day total since Jan. 22, and numbers have been surging in the Olympic host city for nearly a month.
The WNBA team led 75-73 midway through the fourth quarter before Ogunbowale’s four-point play extended the advantage to six. The Olympic squad closed to 83-78 before Ogunbowale, who earned MVP honors, hit another 3-pointer and posed to the crowd, which included many current and former WNBA players and team owners.
When they did respond, the report said, FBI officials made “numerous and fundamental errors” and also violated bureau policies. Among the missteps was a failure to conduct any investigative activity until more than a month after a meeting with USA Gymnastics. Agents interviewed by phone one of three athletes, but never spoke with two other gymnasts despite being told they were available to meet.
Yet as a WB admirer since childhood, and someone whose first encounter with “Duck Amuck” was like a thunderbolt, hearing Foghorn Leghorn use the word “sucks,” or seeing Tweety Bird’s Granny doing an Elaine Stritch cocktails-before-lunch routine — well, if they were genuinely sharp, that’d be one thing. But the character tweaks play like lazy updates thrown against the wall to see if they’ll stick. This time around, for the record, Lola Bunny has been made to be more than the sum of her Jessica Rabbit-inspired parts. In the end, even without a movie-saving Bill Murray around (though he makes a photographic cameo in the end credits) to fully save it, “Space Jam 2″ is a smoother, less grating experience than the first one. Faint praise? Faint movie.
“Guys that come from programs that do a lot of the development already,” Shirley said. “When you think about the (pitcher) Johnny Ray’s of the world (12th round), (outfielder) Terrell Tatum (16th), (third baseman) Jayson Gonzalez (17th), (catcher) Adam Hackenberg (18th) and even (pitcher) Haylen Green (20th), you have TCU (Ray and Green), Clemson (Hackenberg), Vanderbilt (Gonzalez), North Carolina State (Tatum). These guys come with the grit, grind and makeup to get into your system, balance it out, make a difference for you.
