About 11 a.m., a concerned citizen flagged down Chicago police officers to report a “suspicious object” in the 1100 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue, spokeswoman Officer Jessica Rocco wrote in an email. As of 12:40 p.m., canine and bomb units were at the scene.

A 28-year-old man was shot while he was a passenger in a vehicle. The man said he heard about 5 to six gunshots, then felt pain. He suffered a graze wound to the left side of the chest, and was taken to McNeal Hospital where he was listed in good condition, police said..
