Coronavirus in Illinois updates: Here’s what’s happening Wednesday with COVID-19 in the Chicago area
But so, apparently, are tourists. Despite a national average that tops $3 per gallon for the first time since 2014, AAA estimates that 34 million people will travel by car this Memorial Day weekend, down about 8% from the 37 million who took to the road in 2019, but up by more than half from the number packing the hatchback during the deadly early throes of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
Markkanen, who turned 24 this month, put up career highs in shooting — 48% from the field, 40.2% from 3-point range — while posting career-low averages with 13.6 points and 5.3 rebounds. His shooting accuracy did not outweigh the other limitations in his game, and his playing time dwindled to a career-low 25.8 minutes per game.
There were several issues. The area code selection was inconsistent, including several notable omissions — the Tampa Bay Rays’ hat didn’t include St. Petersburg, where the team’s stadium is located, for example; the Pittsburgh Pirates’ version had no area codes at all.
The team that makes the most sense for Foles is the New York Jets. They’re going to start No. 2 pick Zach Wilson from Day 1 unless training camp and preseason are complete disasters for him. The only other quarterbacks on the roster are James Morgan, a fourth-round pick a year ago, and Mike White, who entered the league in 2019 as an undrafted free agent. The Jets could use a veteran with experience to show Wilson the ropes, help teach him how to study film and be a mentor of sorts. Foles seems like an ideal candidate to be that guy, and having him and Andy Dalton on the Bears roster with Justin Fields is redundant. The Bears would create a salary-cap savings if they can trade Foles after June 1. Maybe the Jets will slow-play things and see if the Bears release Foles, which seems unlikely because even after June 1, that would cost more against their cap than keeping him. The Bears wouldn’t get much for Foles. They acquired him from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a fourth-round pick, and he struggled when he played last season. But a late-round pick would really be a bonus on top of the cap savings they would create. We’ll have to see if something shakes out. I don’t think many (any?) other teams would be in the market for Foles.
“Maybe in previous years I’d kind of look into it and maybe get caught up into it, be thinking about all that outside noise leading up to it,” Giolito said. “For this one, it was great. We took pictures and stuff, Ethan and Jack (Monday). I feel like now I’m able to enjoy these kinds of moments and these kinds of experiences rather than stressing about them.
In Zach’s case, his neurologist and epileptologist, Dr. Julia Henry, realized the changing and increasing medications no longer appeared to be helping him, and his condition was getting worse, with dozens of seizures a day. While in many cases the cause of seizures is uncertain, in Zach’s case it was clear that it was caused by the damaged portion of his brain, which made him a good candidate for surgery.
You don’t mention what led you to therapy, but — in my view — if your therapist isn’t able to work with you successfully on some of these core issues, you should consider changing therapists. You might see some success with a form of “exposure therapy,” where you deliberately leave things undone, and gradually learn to cope with your reaction when life gets messy.
“I’m a grown man,” said Wade, who is Black, after the game. “I have a family and I have a responsibility. I have a team and I have a responsibility. So when someone tells one of your players, ‘Explain to your boy,’ yeah, I take that personal.
Aari McDonald scored eight points and assisted on a basket by Monique Billings in a 10-0 run that made it 18-8 with two minutes left in the first quarter, and the Dream led the rest of the way. McDonald, the No. 3 selection in the WNBA draft in April, finished with nine points and five assists — both season highs.
The homers were Pederson’s third and fourth of the season, and he also doubled in the ninth. Entering the series, Pederson was hitting .350 with two doubles, a triple, a homer, eight RBIs and a .397 on-base percentage since May 4, when he came off the 10-day injured list after recovering from left wrist tendinitis.
