Police received calls about a person who was shot and found Samuel Ortiz-Rodriguez, 46, of North Aurora, in the 400 block of South Spencer Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Aurora paramedics arrived on scene and took Ortiz-Rodriguez, of the 300 block of Hidden Creek Lane, to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

About 1:20 a.m., a 32-year-old man was riding east on his bike on Logan Boulevard, approaching the intersection at North Western Avenue, police said.
