In another fatal shooting, shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, a 20-year-old woman was killed while she was a passenger of a vehicle in the Gage Park neighborhood in the 4700 block of South Rockwell Street. The woman was with her boyfriend when someone approached on foot and yelled gang slogans before opening fire. She was struck in the neck and left hand, and was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
“I know you’ve got Pito (José Abreu) coming up next, but you definitely want to get them any way you can, especially in extra innings,” Mendick said. “They’re going to start with a runner on second too.
