State Sen. Christopher Belt, D-Centreville, presented the test-optional admissions bill, known as the Higher Education Fair Admissions Act, and said it was based on research showing that high school GPAs are a better predictor of college graduation than ACT or SAT scores. The bill calls for all four-year public universities to implement test-optional admissions by January.

Getaround, another car-sharing company, said it has seen a significant increase in demand in recent months. Most people using Getaround, which rents by the hour, book cars for errands or short trips, so car rental shortages are just one factor driving demand, Pat Notti, Getaround’s vice president of marketplace and operations, said in a statement. Still, recent growth has been particularly strong among travelers, and business in Florida has doubled since last year, Notti said.
This seven-bedroom home has five full bathrooms, one half-bath, five outdoor spaces, an elevator, two wet bars and a grand circular staircase. The kitchen features custom cabinets, honed quartzite countertops, two dishwashers, three ovens and Thermador and Sub Zero appliances. The primary bedroom suite has custom walk-in closets, a marble bath steam shower, a soaking tub and access to a private deck. O’Dowd, now an analyst for MLB Network, took that a step further, saying it should be a requirement that every international player signed by an MLB team receive a GED before coming to the United States. Not only would it help them become better players but, if baseball didn’t work out, O’Dowd said, “It’d be incredibly incumbent upon us to be able to put players back into the individual areas that they come from, like in the DR, at least with a high school education, hopefully more.”
Avail, a car sharing company that helps people rent from individuals rather than a traditional rental company, is designed to feel like the traditional car rental service. Renters pick up cars from airport lots where cars are inspected and cleaned before being used, the company said.
