The demographics of the potential ward would be 51% Asian, 24% Latino, 20% white and 3% Black. Supporters say such a ward is long overdue, especially after the 2020 Census found Asians were the fasting growing population in Chicago, making up 7% of the population. They also now make up the largest racial group in Bridgeport, according to a 2021 analysis by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.

About 9:15 a.m. Monday, a 44-year-old man was inside a business in the 3800 block of West Division Street when he was involved in an argument with two people. He grabbed a bottle and he was shot in the chest. He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital where he later died, police said.
After being struck, the Mazda hit a Kia Optima that was headed northbound. The driver of the Optima, a 24-year-old man, refused medical treatment. Three adults, two men and one woman, who were passengers in the Mazda, were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
“We fiercely dislike Mexico’s soccer team, right, and we’re fierce competitors and we want to win every time on the field,” Berhalter said, making a point to distinguish Mexico’s team from its people. “Afterwards, you shake hands and you move on. We have a lot of respect for them.”
He was arrested Friday in the same block where he lives after he was identified as the person who hours earlier took a vehicle by force from a 21-year-old man, and also tried to take his belongings in the 1100 block of North Menard Avenue, police said.
“I was asking everybody what they were challenging, and I had no clue what they were challenging,” King said. “It was explained to me it had to be something about the high stick, whoever played the puck came over the blue line. I’m totally, to be honest with you, I’m not 100% sure. I’m glad it went in our favor.”
Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday, the woman was driving in the 3400 block of West Jackson Boulevard when she suffered a gunshot wound to the head. She was taken in critical condition to the hospital, and no information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting were immediately available, police said.
Given opportunities to win games, the defense doesn’t rise to the challenge, similar to what happened in losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Steelers before the bye week.
