Ezike’s assistant director, Amaal Tokars, will take over as interim director. Tokars, who is not a medical doctor, has a Ph.D. in leadership and policy from Northern Illinois University and previously worked for the Kendall County Health Department and as president of the Northern Illinois Public Health Consortium.

Swain said getting the artists on the lineup wasn’t a tough sell, as many had heard about the fest.
The airport wants to build a road through the Bell Bowl Prairie, one of the last remaining places in the state where prairie exists much as it did 8,000 years ago. Conservationists are fighting the road in the name of rare plants and animals found on the 5-acre stretch of land, including the federally endangered rusty patched bumblebee.
