“Mentally, I wasn’t there a lot,” Carter said of his time with the Bulls. “The coaching change was crazy. I couldn’t get used to anyone. I didn’t feel comfortable. It was an older team. A lot of guys were veterans. It was the business side of it, too, dudes trying to get paid. It was a little weird situation over there, but it definitely built character for me. I got an understanding of what the NBA really is.”
It would be great if your kids had a dad and granddad who cared enough about them to get off the couch and take them outside to engage in play that is truly interactive. The number of letters I receive from parents of teens and young adults (mostly male, frankly), anguished over the hours, money and effort spent on video gaming would persuade any parent to delay this activity — or at least offer younger children something in the realm of age-appropriate.
Iowa State (22-13) rode its hard-nosed defense into the Midwest Region semifinals after it had just two wins last season. “The key is just trying to find connection points,” Brown told the Tribune on Friday. “He loves hitting, he loves talking hitting and he’s got a great personality. … He’s very engaging, very confident, and you see with his player interactions, he just immediately can immerse himself. That is going to be a recipe for success for him.”
“They are very important pieces to the puzzle,” pitching coach Ethan Katz said of López and Velasquez last week. “Especially when you’re looking at Michael right now, off the year that he had, we really have to be smart with his innings and he had a little bit of time down (after a positive COVID-19 test) before he got (to spring training). Now we have to make sure that we don’t push him too hard to get him ready.”
“We as an organization know that this transaction has been very difficult for many people, particularly women in our community,” Berry said. “We realize that it has triggered a range of emotions. And that, as well as the nature of the allegations, weighed heavily on all of us.
Regarding the search warrant addition, the police department agreed that warrants would apply to three paragraphs in the impartial policing section of the document. Under the sections, CPD would be required to ensure that its policies and procedures — now including but not limited to search warrants — do not discriminate against people based on race, sex, gender identify or other protected classes.
Overall, the project would mean 332,780 square feet of new construction, with completion in 2030. Once it’s finished, the hospital would have 326 licensed, staffed beds, said hospital president Susan Nordstrom Lopez. Now, the hospital has 397 licensed beds, but only about 304 are staffed, meaning only 304 are able to be used, she said.
