A 7-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the Humboldt Park neighborhood Thursday evening, police said.
The boy was handling a firearm in the bedroom of an apartment on the 4000 block of West North Avenue when he shot himself in the left hand around 5:30 p.m., police said.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said. Officers recovered two firearms at the scene. No one was in custody and officers were investigating, police said.
