Multi-Gen Leadership Conference Looks to Empower Women and Girls

What would happen if we introduced a leadership mindset to girls as young as 9, and put them in a room with female leaders of all ages to hear and exchange ideas, struggles, and brainstorm solutions? These are the questions corporate consultants, Gwen Hill and Michele Aikens are seeking to answer with their Evolution: Next Level Leadership for Women & Girls Conference.

Held August 4th through August 6th in Matteson, IL, the conference will bring women leaders and girls between 9 and 18 years old together to talk about conflict, goal setting, mental health and more before the school year starts.

Gwen Hill, a corporate trainer and president of TST Consulting, and Michele Aikens, an executive coach, got the idea after sharing concerns about the impact violence and unhealthy media images are having on girls and women leaders.

“Having experienced the inner conflict that comes from who you believe you are versus how you are portrayed is something I work with daily,” says Hill.  “Much of the conflict we are seeing in our world is a result of the conflict we are having with ourselves.”

Aikens added, “As a coach I see the effects of not having a goal to work towards.  If we can partner conflict resolution with goal setting, we will see a leadership mindset in our girls earlier in life.”

The conference will feature an array of thoughtfully crafted workshops, enriching generational roundtable discussions, an enlightening mental health panel and a closing celebratory gala.

Supported by the signature partnership of JD3-TV, a multi-media platform, Denise Dentley, Director of Operations commented, “JD3TV is a proud sponsor of Evolution because it aligns with the mission of JD3 Media’s non-profit arm, to support children, women, seniors and veterans.”
