Police issue community alert for aggravated sexual assault in Lincoln Park

Chicago police issued a community alert Friday asking the public for help to capture a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in Lincoln Park earlier this month.

According to police, at approximately 3:29 a.m. on July 8, a man followed the woman into a residence vestibule in the 1900 block of North Sheffield Avenue and sexually assaulted her.

The man is described to be between 25-35 years old, 160 to175 pounds, with short hair, balding in the front, and unshaven facial hair.

Bureau detectives have requested that individuals who were in the North Sheffield Avenue area between the hours of 3 a.m. and 4 p.m. on July 8 check for images and videos they may have of the suspect and share them with CPD’s Bureau of Detectives at 312-744-8261.
